It's still shocking to me. Some daring nudity and some convincing sex scenes. More than anything, though, it's shocking because of its subject matter. Personally, I think it's a must-see for those who like to be kicked in this face by intense, disquieting dramas.
shareThe way the stuff is presented is a bit more conservative than today's standards, but it is still extreme in where it goes, the story is explicit. There's some pretty uncomfortable stuff going on here. Extended nudity is throughout so if that's what does it for you, then you're in luck
So would it "shock" someone who is watching it just now, maybe not (I find that people who seek out shocks rarely find them unless it's in-your-face) but what happens is a very adult situation that is definitely shocking to think about,,, So I guess both yes and no; don't go into this movie expecting to be overwhelmed with visual perversity. There is definitely some of that, but it is more shocking on a level of morality. They sure do some awful things to each other.
