Seems like this movie was completely ripped off by Poison Ivy.

I haven't seen this movie yet, but from the plot it seems like "The Hand that Rocks the Cradle" ripped this one off, too.

It's just a popular theme I guess. The babysitter that gains more and more influence over a family eventually trying to take over at any cost. I think I lliked this better than Hand that rocks the cradle.

The TV movie "Summer Girl" from 1983 also shares this theme. It's good for what it is (Diane Franklin is great as the secretly evil babysitter) and is available on youtube.
