Awful movie!

I bought this junk for 18 dollars at Amazon.com thinking it would be a guilty pleasure from 1980-I knew it was going to be cheesy, which it was, but it was also boring. Zimbalist was possessed? She did a horrible job of acting it. Plus the ending which just ends abruptly was terrible.

Who edited this movie? It was like they had a cookie cutter to put this movie together. It could not have been easy with the awful direction and terible acting.

Miss at all costs! Dont buy-if you must see it rent it or watch on cable. Watch in bed-it will put you right to sleep!

3 out of 10.

I saw it for the first time on cable around 1987. I would have been about 12. I enjoyed it then and still do. To each their own. I'm sorry you feel that you wasted $18. Zimbalist wasn't fully possessed/"awakened" until the end.

A boring ass movie with a lame ass ending.

Why do you regard THE AWAKENING as boring?
It's a wonderful movie!

Yes, you've opened my eyes! How could I've been so foolish!

Its easily the best movie about Egyptology .... so I'm pleased that your eyes are now open to its terrific presence!

Stratego, you didn't by chance work as the film critic for the "Philadelphia Enquirer" on 31 October 1980 did you?
THE AWAKENING. - Unrelieved drivel casting Charlton Heston as an Egyptologist who unleashes the curse of a mummy, or more accurately, a mummy-to-be since the victim is his pregnant wife. For Heston, a grave embarrassment, and for anyone unfortunate enough to see it, the film is as much fun as an embalmment.

Well, if that wasn't written by me, then it has to be someone as genius!
