different versions?

I've heard this film was in German, but the version I saw was in English... also it is listed in my movie guide as "From the LIVES of the marionettes" and is said to only go for 104 minutes, whereas the one I saw was 120 minutes long. Also surprised it only got an M in Australia when it had a fair bit of nudity and sexuality.

The original version is German, it's one of Bergman's Germany films. Are you sure it's not dubbed?

This... is chemical burn.

Hi - I just saw your post re Bergman's film.

I live in Adelaide and borrowed the film this week - albiet the dubbed English version (I think).

That said, my local video library (Kino) is a very specialist one which stocks a serious collection of world cinema.

hey hotdog.
I borrowed the film on VHS from Electric Shadows bookshop (which doubles as a video rental) in Canberra. It probably was dubbed, which I found strange because most of the foreign films available there are simply subtitled. By the way I highly recommend checking the place out if you're near Canberra any time, they've got a big range of foreign and hard to find movies, both for rent and for sale.
