The orangutan "saved" the film IMHO. BTW are they that strong, REALLY?

It's just my humble opinion.

This film was just mildly bearable, mostly because of the orangutan's antics and that scene where he gets a room to make love to his orangutan lady hahah.

But other than that, i thought it was a ridiculous film, and IMHO Eastwood is NOT GOOD as a semi-comedian. As Dirty Harry or as "blondie" in westerns, he is an icon. But he is just not a funny person, to be starring a film like this. Not to me anyways.

Bottom line, I went as far as the part where they start to fight. The fight was so boring, long and unrealistic (for God sakes, every single punch they threw at each other connected the other guy's face or body and they are supposed to be prized knuckle fighters???), that I just stopped watching the film altogether at that point.

But one thing really, really intrigues me: ARE ORANGUTANS REALLY THAT STRONG? I mean can they really bend hard metal and tear apart a car piece by piece with their own bare hands? I mean that little orangutan fellow was shorter than Danny de Vito and didn't look particularly big or muscular, like say a big male gorilla.

If they are really that strong, then they could take on a big bear, a tiger or a lion. Just carry any other creature they may grab by its hind legs, and throw it hardly onto a tree, a rock or anything and that would do it.

If they are actually that strong, only a nut-job would have one of these as their "pet", let alone as their partner for rides anywhere!

Orangutans are something like seven times stronger then humans. Bears and lions are damn strong also and both can pretty much kill with one swipe of a paw. bears and lions can crush your skull with one hit

An orangutan could grab your arms and pull them out of the socket. Usually they are not that aggressive though.

The OP was an idiot. Part of Clint’s genius is that he has the common touch. He can connect with almost anyone. He was hilarious in his interview with Johnny Carson on the Tonight Show. That’s a very high standard of smart and funny.
