One way to take it is meaning a hell besides the Hell of the Living Dead, his zombie masterpiece. Otherwise, in the beginning of the movie, Sister Assunta says there is another passage to hell and it is through the genitals, then she hacks them out of the dead nun she's doing an autopsy on.
shareThere may be some truth to this because even the Font of the opening title was the same as Hell of the Living Dead. The gardener dude was one of the swat guys from Hell of the Living Dead too, but surely there must be another meaning. Either way, this is a quite entertaining Nunsploitation, in my opinion.
It's because in Italy this movie is an unofficial sequel/cash-in to Dario Argento's Inferno. Check out any locandina or lobby card sporting its L'Altro Inferno title, the aesthetics of the key art and the title font match near-perfectly. We're supposed to have it here in the States as Guardian Of Hell, but the VHS distributor chose The Other Hell instead, losing the intent in the translation.
