If you were born after 1975, don't bother watching Airplane!

Save yourself the time & save yourself the embarrassment of not getting it.

May I suggest that you watch This Is The End for the 8th time instead. When you're finished watching This Is The End for the 8th time, go to your facebook page and brag to your, um, "friends".

Feeble minds.

Yeah, the 21st century seems pretty lame in comedy terms.

Can you imagine anyone making something like Blazing Saddles today? That film is so politically incorrect that I seriously doubt it would ever get made.

reply

No one would dare make something like Blazing Saddles today

Largely because Mel Brooks would sue them if they did.

Ever tried. Ever failed. No Matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better

In between LMFAO

Doesn't the (sweet?) old lady tell him "Up yours, n------"?

No question, it has zero chance. The PC Nazis wouldn't even grasp that the white people were actually getting mocked.

You are an idiot... and a douche. A close-minded douche. Don't pretend you know everything about everybody.

Tough luck, chinless

Welp. I was born in 1977 and I grew up on Airplane!. It is my favorite movie, along with The Great Race.

born in 1977 ... grew up on Airplane! & The Great Race

And someone who had a hand in raising you really loved zany comedy.

Your take on Monty Python? Steve Martin (young Steve Martin)?

reply

Love you,g Steve Martin! "Fred's Bank. Hi, I'm Fred, I have a bank."

reply

Welp??? WTF?

reply

Should have been 'whelp'... but GREAT taste in movies!

reply

I have to agree in parts.

This movie has it's value and importance for comedy history. But it can't be consider a classic. If it was a classic it would make people laugh throughout the years, not only who watched it in the 80's.

Good movies don't need context of the time they were made to be understood and appreciated.

reply

I was born in 84 and grew up watching this movie and I loved it!!! I get the jokes!! I love the movie and I watch it whenever I can!!

reply

I should have taken your advice... It had a couple of good laughs but definitely far from truly funny.

reply

I was born i 1978. I grew up watchng this movie and it's one of my all time favorites Along with Top Secret, all the Naked Gun movies, Kentucky Fried Movie, Amazon Women On The Moon, History of the World, Blazing Saddles, and Young Frankenstien. My friends and I quote one or more of these movies almost on daily basis.

What a narrow minded 'recommendation'!

Not everyone, surprisingly, has the same type of sense of humour, regardless of age and when they were born, so to instruct anyone born after 1975 not to bother watching Airplane! is pretty pathetic.

It's a hilarious film that has broad comic appeal to people of any age group who actually have senses of humour. From what you've said though I take it you don't actually have one.

Personally I'd recommend this film to anyone of any age which doesn't have a stick up their a**!

spend 30 sec to figure out who made the OP. I love this movie. I was also born before 1975. I think it SHOULD have broad comic appeal to any age group, but the vast majority of people born after 1975 differ strongly. Maybe, in your words, they just have a stick up their a**! Ask a few to bend over & take a close look for me, OK?

ps: look up the words "sardonic" & "sarcastic", but don't do it on the internet. It appears your time on the internet is already marinating your brain & your stability.
