Well, James was my director for a time earlier in the year. I had not heard of this during the production, so I didn't get around to asking him. However, I seriously doubt any sort of reprisal would occur any time soon. But what do I know?
I just read on the Granada site that ITV / LWT now own the exclusive rights to dramatise the entire Agatha Christie collection. Let's hope they will not forget Tommy & Tuppence. After all ....it would be much more interesting to see a new film instead of a Miss Marple remake.
In the Secret Adversary they're supposed to be about 22 (the book says their combined ages would not equal 45) so I would assume in the short stories they'd be a little bit older than that.
I agree that Poirot and Marple (though I love them) are over done, and you can tell they realize that, since they're ramming them into other books now. By the Pricking of my Thumbs was particularly upsetting, since the entire time I was just really angry at Marple for replacing Tommy. It's not like people wouldn't watch it if it didn't have "Poirot" or "Marple" in the name. They could just market it as an "Agatha Christie" season and still get the name recognition... Bloop.
I'm not sure about James, Francessa and Reese reprisisng their roles, but, I would love to see more Tommy / Tuppence stories. Agatha Christie is a great writer and there are more stories to her than Marple / Poirot (which I do enjoy). And with Poirot ending soon then there's room for a different Christie series
