I think a remake could be good if Tina Fey was cast as Violet Newstead and Kristin Chenoweth was cast as Doralee Rhodes. I would love to see Jack Nicholson play Franklin Hart, Jr., but I don't know if he would be believable in the part because he is 75 now.

No. Never. Nope. No way no how.
shareThey'd have to update it, like not make them secretaries anymore.
A somewhat realistic cast without Oscar winners.
Judy- Rebel Wilson. Instead of a deadbeat husband, she has a stoner boyfriend who aspires to be a DJ, but never uses his DJ equipment. Instead of a secretary, she's a marketing assistant. She starts out really passive aggressive and learns to assert herself. She keeps the Australian accent.
Doralee- Change the character name and cast Alison Brie (I feel like the only reason the character was Southern just because they wanted Dolly Parton). She's still married and is Hart's personal assistant.
Violet- Kristin Wiig if they wanted to go in a younger direction. Tina Fey for an older direction. Instead of a widow, she's now divorced with kids who are pre-teens. She's in the running to become VP of the company, but gets passed over by Hart when he opts for a man because she has kids. Her and Hart started at the company at the same time.
Hart- Will Arnett if Violet is Wiig or Will Ferrell if Violet is Fey.
Roz- Mindy Kaling
The themes would be the same, but still showcase how sexism still exists; such as making almost the entire Marketing Department female and having Wilson support her boyfriend financially even though he's a domineering jerk who spends her money on useless crap (but having her dump him by the end).
These people don't have hardly nothing to them... The other ones are much better..
I like cats named nightmare. I have a "nightmare" every night!
Let's not!!!
shareLet's not and say we did. I was forced to watch this train wreck 5 times during the summer of 1980 when I was 13. Bury this.
