Jane, Lily and Dolly Were Fantastic!!!

The chemistry between them all was excellent, making it all the more fun when they joined together to get revenge on their bully boss. The hospital scenes and the 'wrong body' are classics.

The more I study it, the greater the puzzle becomes.

I fully agree! This has to be one of the best and most likeable casts I've ever seen! The three of them are already terrific artists individually, but together they simply rocked! I so wish they would have made another film together.

They made a good team. I thought the best acting came from Lily Tomlin. She didn't go over the top in terms of her emotions, reactions, and dialogue exchanges. She played her role not for laughs, but straight and realistically. You can see and believe that she's a fed up and despairing employee who is trying very hard to keep her composure and convince herself to continue to be hopeful(even though she probably knows her prospects aren't great), and not let her emotions get the best of her. She is trapped by her boss and she has no choice but to kiss up to him even though she hates it. She is weary and cynical of her job. Her dreams have been crushed. You can see that she is trying hard to succeed and survive in the workplace. And when she is finally happy, you can see genuine smile and satisfaction: someone who can finally relax. Her acting isn't forced. It all seems very natural.

Yes!

9 to 5 is one of my favorite comedies of all time!!! It is a brilliant mix of comic genius, while dealing with the serious issues of workplace discrimination.

I first saw this movie on laserdisc (showing my age). I hadn't laughed out loud so hard, so often, in a long time.

There were so many funny scenes; their drug fueled fantasies, the rat poison, Jane Fonda's 'sex games and M&Ms' scene, it's hilarious. A classic comedy.

I watched this with the audio commentary and the cast was a trip!

''I thought the best acting came from Lily Tomlin.''

agreed she was like Lynnette in desperate housewives, the downtrodden mother.

I love this movie, too!

I waited a long time for it to come out on iTunes but it finally did and my periodic checking for it paid off. It's one of my favorite movies to play.

The three women are adorable together and their chemistry is wonderful.

A friend of mine and I memorized this phrase years ago: "Sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot."

It's a very cute movie.

Also, Mr. Hart's body motions while swinging from the garage door opener in his hang gliding harness are hilarious.

He had to be a good sport to put up with those scenes

oh man why did they dress up jane fonda like a granny, i can hardly see her underneath that hat and giant glasses, i can't believe this is the same woman that played barbarella. i wonder if the boss was an inspiration to marcy's boss in the episode of "married with children" where they take a flight after meeting a fortune telling lady. i'm surprised this was rated from age 15, this was a pretty light, harmless, mild movie, i got a feeling if they remade this there wouldn't be anything left of their boss man. the painting on the wall looked like charlton heston. i thought all three leading ladies in this did a great job, funny bit when the guy opens the door and sees the boss hanging from the roof, the dream sequences where they get even with the boss was just plain weird, the best was dolly parton's dream where she turns the table and harasses the boss, like when she presses his head to her boobs... yeah... poor guy😢 😄
