Violet's kimono

I used to work with woman their age who kept some kind of cover (sport jacket, lab coat, kimono, sweater) slung over their chair. Like Violet, it always struck me a little odd.

When I used to work in an office,I had a full-zip hoodie that I always kept at my desk. When I was seated and not moving, I would get cold, so I would wear it. I had the habit of removing it when I was away from my desk. I don't know why, it was a habit.
