Henry's attitude....

Is it me, or did I find Henry's attitude and mentality really hard to accept and swallow...!?
I found him in certain episodes, an extremely STRICT father who wouldn't let his daughters grow up or have their freedom, and in the later ones.. even let his wife Muriel do what she wants...!
In today's world,, that kind of man would have been divorced by his wife and his kids would have grown up hating him for not letting them grow up.
