Theme Song for SANFORD (1980)

Does anyone know for sure what the theme song was for SANFORD? On YouTube someone has posted the opening titles and it has the familiar "Streetbeater" theme from SANFORD & SON playing over them. But another fan has posted complete episodes recorded off BET and those episodes containing the opening titles have a wholly different instrumental theme.

I haven't seen closing titles posted anywhere that would clear this up, so I'm hoping someone has a good memory dating back to 1980-81.

Thanks for any help here.

I remember back in 1980-81 when I was 6 & 7 years old when this show originally aired on NBC. And the theme song was "Streetbeater" the same theme as the original show intro & outro. And even when the show reran on BET, it was still the theme. I saw the youtube shows with the diffrent theme songs, and wonderd why that was done. But yes, being a S&S fan for as long as I could remember being alive, I recall watching Sanford on its first NBC run, and thought hearing the song even with the new shows, with diffrent opening sequince was pretty neat. So yep it was "Streetbeater".

Thanks for clearing that up, EJD. As a fellow lifelong S&S fan, I appreciate that.

As for changing the theme for those YouTube episodes, I wonder if it was a copyright issue (something YouTube is really strict about). I once had some bargain bin BONANZA and BEVERLY HILLBILLIES DVDs that had substituted theme music. The music is such an integral part of the viewing experience the changed music really cut into the fun. And the "Streetbeater" is absolutely necessary when watching Fred.
