Resolutions 1 & 2

Well, watched them in my teens on network TV.

Watched again in my mid-20s.

Watched again with my first kid in my mid-30s.

Just watched again with my second kid in my early-40s.

Disappointed every time with the finale of my favourite show of all time for a lot of reasons.

I have seen it many times as well and I am satisfied, but not totally.

I liked the Higgins/Robin Masters twist at the end.
I also loved how he was reunited with his daughter.
I liked how he re-joined the Navy. Something that I had missed until I heard a commentary on the DVD;s.
I liked the part where the four all went out again one more time and got into a fight.
Rick saying I...I...I was great
Magnum walking with his daughter on the beach and him turning off the tv and saying good night was a nice touch.

The beginning where he was back home was ok.

The big part I disliked was the side story with his romance he had with the news reporter, which he had an interest in the season before in an episode called "Forty". I always felt that he was too old for her in their first meeting and it felt wrong to me how he almost stalked her, in a way. It's almost like they needed something else in the finale to make it a 2 hour length.

I would love to hear your thoughts on what you liked and disliked in the finale.

The best finale episode I have ever seen is the finale from Newhart, where he dreamed it all. That was classic. I have never seen much of the original Newhart show, but I loved the way they had him wake up beside Suzanne Pleshette in the finale of the second show.
