One itty bitty criticism of a great show ....

The main character: Magnum.

Matches the description of what women claim to want physically; attractive but still masculine, tall at 6'4", fairly large physique .. not overly muscle bound but not underdeveloped, dark hair.

Drives a sports car; and in one of several colors women like for a car .. red (others yellow, white).

Lives on a millionaire's beach front estate; if you can't quite be the millionaire, be close pals with one. And in all places ... Hawaii; tropical location but not third world country.

Has a job that vaguely resembles a spy/James Bond lifestyle; new adventure/case every so often, meets/interacts with new people on a regular basis, some danger involved, sneaking around, sleuthing etc.

And yet, Magnum routinely turns down females, and rather good looking ones, who are making it clear that if he wants "it" he can just come and get "it", when he wants "it". That is so completely unrealistic. No self respecting male would do such a thing. No matter what the male's intelligence level, he would be all over at least some of them. If I was in such a situation I would be the world's biggest alley cat/tom cat. Probably get many threesomes as well; although he accidently did twin sisters (Sharon Stone in her prime).

I mean, it's just downright un-American that he does this. It's not like he's married or in a deep enjoyable relationship with some super duper woman.

Yeah, he was no Banacek. At least Spenser had a girlfriend and he had old fashion values.
BTW, I don't remember the Sharon Stone episode that well, did he actually have both sisters?

We live as we dream - alone.

That's what I remember about that episode. The evil twin slipped in and he did her as well. I guess maybe it was left up in the air whether he had the emotionally disturbed one. Kinda the good one she was.

...and you guys call yourselves Magnum P.I. fans?  I'm not familiar with tplast but Cind5 has been bumping around this board for years and should know better. Sharon Stone played Diane Dupres in "Echoes of the Mind" Diane Dupres had a split personality who was her twin sister Deirdre. She was crazy. If I remember correctly, Diane and Deirdre were kidnaped as kids and Deirdre didn't survive the incident. Diane was heavily scarred mentally by this and developed the Deirdre split personality. Watch it again with this in mind and it's very clear. When Diane is talking to Deirdre she's talking to herself essentially. This really shouldn't qualify as having sex with twins. Now, with that being said, a little note to the younger guys out there...crazy sex can be great sex but you don't bring it home or marry it.  You can thank me later.

I figured a fan boy would come here with condemnation. This was a fun thread. Tongue in cheek. Who cares if it wasn't strictly twins, it sure seemed like it to most viewers.

reply

Take it easy. It still is a fun thread. The emoticons are there for a reason. Your calling me a fanboy did elicit a chuckle out of me though. Thanks for the laugh.

I don't need to take anything easy. I have already said it was (meant to be) a fun thread ... tongue and cheek. You're the one who got serious.
