Good news!

They're probably working on clearance from all the musical acts who appeared on the show (and clearance to use certain sketches they were told never to do again).

There's a set coming out August 6th, with 16 episodes. Hopefully it will sell well and Shout will pony up the dough to clear more episodes for release. Nothing I like ever makes money, though.

Oh, lovely. Many of the episodes on this set are cut. Wish I hadn't bought it. You've been warned.

Why would they do that? Thanks for the info.

Sorry, I was SO annoyed when I wrote that. The final disc in the set with all the cast and crew interviews is pretty good. But some of the music rights proved too problematic and/or expensive, so musical performances were dropped. Personally, I would have been happier with a smaller set of just the uncut episodes. Then if sales warranted, they could consider going back and clearing some more. Instead we're left with this mix of cut and uncut episodes. I'm surprised they didn't just do a "best of" and pull sketches from all over the place, not bothering with the music. Not an insider; can't imagine the decision-making process that must have occurred.

It's also currently streaming for free on the Shout Factory app on Roku.
