His wife is so annoying.

I'm only about 25 minutes in and I really want something bad to happen to her. Talk about a disrespectful argumentative witch.

I just finished watching this. She is pretty annoying at first, but changes sides eventually, typical woman logic I guess xD

I didn't like her in the beginning as well. I understood her wearing her traditional garb at their wedding, even not kneeling if it was very demeaning for her to do so in her culture. But her destroying the home and statues because she didn't have a punching bag was out of line. It is such a privileged way of thinking that you can merely destroy a home for mere exercise and amusement due to a lack of equipment to train, only someone so spoiled and bratty would ever consider such a prospect. Then, she finds his training room and proceeds to have his equipment removed instead of sharing the hall with him. What an incredibly selfish thing to do imo. Also, not joining your husband in his table was very disrespectful.

I can understand though how she wanted to hold on to her Japanese customs and traditions, being the only foreigner in a foreign land. But she did not even seek any way to compromise or to make a little effort towards her husband and his home/culture. Whereas I found the husband to be trying to put more effort towards her, especially in the beginning.

She came around later on though, and you can see it by her wearing Chinese garb instead to support her husband as she may have had feelings of guilt about the entire proceedings.

I hope though that she will not entirely be a "good dutiful Chinese wife" but instead a blend of the 2. Wearing her kimonos, I did not find anything wrong with it and wearing Chinese clothes during special events or in support of a husband in a duel is good too.

I just don't like seeing such extreme characterizations either being too rigid as a Japanese or succumbing and losing your identity too entirely to be a Chinese wife.

But she has a strong character, I'm sure they have a lot of marital fights to look forward to in the future, lol!
