I both loved and find this movie annoying. Mostly love, but little things bother me.

As a chinese person who holds martial arts close to my heart both as a martial artist and as my culture I didn't like the fact that:

a) it was a battle of whos martial art is the best, now that I think about it it HAS been done before i.e my style beats yours or what not and usually I have no problem with that eg. snake in the eagles shadow.

But in the end its about conditioning, speed and power. To say yuen biao fails because his master taught him the moves is dumb. He could've also mixed his techniques up with his brothers to make it more deceptive...kill him with the moves the master taught him

Also in real life it wouldn't matter what style you use, if your faster then your opponent and you attack and connect with your opponent...and you can transfer all the power into your opponent you win. Yuen Biao just needed to get stronger.

But i guess they wanted to go in the direction of the ultimate master teaches pupil thing ...i.e old guy in 'snakes in the eagle shadow' and 'drunken fist'

b) he only won at the end because he cheated and double teamed the master, also the master, all he had to do is just jump out of the vine swings...kinda unbelievable he just jumped in one spot and took it like a b*tch.
