Not sure how I felt about it. Spoilers for those who have not seen it:

When the girl he was falling in love with (maybe?) stabbed him... well, I guess I could understand her point of view, as she felt he either needed to pay for his sins or be set free. Even so, why did he go to the airport, get on the plane and essentially allow himself to bleed to death? He could have received medical care a lot sooner, either with a regular hospital or one that serviced the criminal element (if he was afraid of being caught with the money).

So I don't know... I guess maybe he was depressed, as he viewed her as his last chance at having a normal life with someone to settle down with, so once he threw her down the shaft and killed her, he essentially killed that one chance at redemption.

So maybe the film should have been called REDEMPTION OF THE GOLDEN WOLF?

Even so, I think I still liked the movie just due to his character. On a side note, I have to wonder if Yûsaku Matsuda wasn't the inspiration for Spike Spiegel in COWBOY BEBOP (or at least his visual appearance).
