I Love this film

But I wish there were other films, like it, I've seen a couple which were ok, but nothing so simple and so detailed. If anyone knows of a similar film to this I'd love to hear about it.

It costs nothing in this world to be nice

I would recommend a movie I saw recently that is romantic and tragic and so well done. It took place in WWII and was a great story. It had subtitles but I hope that won't prevent you from seeing it. The movie was Tmavomodrý svet (2001), a Czech movie. This movie and Yanks are two of my very favorite movies that take place during WWII.

Yes. I also love the "Yanks-in-WWII-Britain" story. Here is a great movie:

"Yanks" is modern and Retro at the same time, so there's not many like it. Maybe you could try http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0401019/ if you can find a disc.

"He sent the rain."
"Who sent the fire?"

Yanks is one of my favorite movies, it's excellent!
I didn't think that I would enjoy it at first but was more than pleasantly surprised when I did.
Recommened!

I was born in Stockport. I married a girl from Stalybridge.{40 yrs now} During the filming of YANKS we were living in Hyde. In 1981 we moved to Saddleworth. After the house fell down we lived in Oldham. My wife and sons travelled from Oxenhope to Keithley on the private railway during an end of season{2} celebration for Last of the Summer Wine. And, I am old enough to do Arithmetic calculations of the type of currency in the film. Now BLACKCAT that about any film

BTW it's a great film

I saw The Affair on HBO years back. As a Black-American both Yanks and The Affair shows the racism by White American soldiers especially ones from the South. When I was in London I went to the Imperial War Museum that had the exibition of Blacks colonials who fought in WWII and there was a clip of a Black American soldier speaking to a old English woman from a US training film.
