Am I the only person who liked it alot? Thought the characters and acting were all good...

No, I liked it a lot. The films potrayal of WW2 in that part of the UK are accurate and the casting was excellent. It probably felt like taking a step back in time for some !

Of course it deserves to be higher.

A lot of old films get ranked too low for varying reasons.
