Today is the 6th of June 2013 and I remembered this film

Not many people talk about DDay these days but today I thought about this film from 1979. I fell in love with Richard Gere in this very early film of his. I just loved the story of the Brits and Yanks (hence the title) before DDay and the love and resentment they all had to deal with in order to defeat the Germans. They were all mixed together in England when the all they wanted to do was to go back to their pre-war lives. I can't imagine how hard that was. This is another WWII film I would like to see remade or something similar to it. I think it is so important that we never forget. These stories need to be told and retold.
