Light settings in Woyceck too bright

I just thought that many of the scenes were lit way too bright (though there are some very dark ones as well - especially at the end).

Overall -to me- this movie appeared 'too bright' for this terrible tragedy

I think you aren't giving the crew behind "Woyzeck" enough credit:

To say that the light was "too bright" and think that this type of technicality wasn't taken into account in a film by a director and production crew with over 10 films under their belts; is just wrong.

Instead of leaving your observation as a mistake, remember that all the things in great films are intentional, especially, an obvious technical element such as the lighting. What do you think he's saying about the story of "Woyzeck" with his over-done lighting? Your comment "Overall -to me- this movie appeared 'too bright' for this terrible tragedy" alone has merit to it. Isn't that an ironical statement; so that you can create your own ideas about the film?

...and it makes a very uncomfortable setting. :-P

The music during the murder was very upbeat and sometimes sounded cheerful. But man it was painful. The juxtaposition worked really really really well. Shockingly well. Seriously, guys, did not expect that movie to mess me up like that.
