I gave this a 7,just for the you-know-which scene
Really, this movie was almost indifferent, but the murder scene and the music that played along, were great!Kinski was superb,of course...

shareWould that be the you-know-which scene that's plastered all over the imdb page, the DVD cover and all the posters for the movie? ;)
The first time I saw this film, I can't remember what I thought of it. But the you-know-what scene really blew me away. Every time I've watched it after that, I almost want to fast forward right to that scene.
Herzog films often strike me that way. They are somewhat laborious, but there's always a great payoff scene that makes it all worth it. Like in Nosferatu, I thought there were quite a few dull moments, but the shot of the town gone mad with the music playing & the far shot of the town square... I'd watch a 2 hr documentary on peoples' feet just to get to that.
