bad subtitles or nonsense?

throughout the movie, there were a lot of sentences that didnt make sense to me. mostly they were spoken by woyzeck but other people spoke it too. there were a lot of random lines that didnt really make any sense. i suppose they had a symbolic meaning that im too dense to connect, but i was really confused through most of the movie. im too lazy to cite the specific lines. anybody else notice this?

it's just the style of its author Georg Büchner.

I see. Thank you.

its most likely because woyzeck's a crazy person.

The play very much the same. It is very non-naturalistic and obviously explores Woyzeck decent into maddess. If anything the film is less nonsensical that the play, the play is a nightmare especially if you're not performing as a straight play.

Yes as you say, I found it to all be very symbolic, and at the same time seemingly random. Sporadic thoughts and philosophies about life from a man losing his mind. As well as the ideas from people almost equally suffering, or those mad with power. I find a lot of Herzog films to sort of be like this, although you're right, this was very random. I love it though, I worship most of Herzog's films.
