What if Cyrus hadn’t been shot?

Presently watching The Warriors for probably the 30th time, and as Cyrus got wasted a thought crossed my mind.

I wonder what kind of film it might have been if Luther had missed or just winged Cyrus and they went along with what Cyrus was proposing? Of course it would not be a film about one night anymore but long term. Could be an HBO mini-series, “Cyrus - The Riffs take New York”. I’d like to see it as long as it didn’t take the all too common turn to stupidity that Hollywood likes to do.

They would have taken down NYC
It would have been amazing...but i loved the story as it was told

reply

Oh, I love the film as is myself.

Still would love to see HBO or Netflix etc take a new spin on it via a mini-series.

That said, I might hunt down the original novel (published 1965?) this winter and give it a read.

Id be all in for a mini series!
And i didnt know it was a novel first...wonder if its till in print

Available on Kindle for $10
Amazon has it used for about the same ( but the prices are all in pounds or some shit...thats all i could find)

Then maybe there would've been a real truce between all the gangs of NYC, which was the purpose of that huge meeting.

reply

The warriors could have then been the prequel to Escape from New York.

reply

Hmmmm.....interesting idea. Who knows, though?

I like linking unlinked movies. Like how the Matrix could have been a long down the road sequel the Terminator movies.

reply

The only trouble is, however, that sequels, or linking of movies only work for so long, and then they begin to go downhill.

Superman was a good example. Superman I and Superman II were quite good, but, then from Superman III on, it began to go downhill.

reply

I mean just linked in my head, not by choice of the studio.
