Making a case: why the Orphans were the toughest gang

Nobody was sleazier, grittier, nor more homespun. These guys ruled, if it weren't for the cleverness of Swan, and the Molotov Cocktail, the Warriors were toast. Orphans had them surrounded, and in that *beep* would have pounded them into the pavement.

Notice the respect the leader garnered, with a snap of his fingers? Notice how they didn't have a youth worker? Notice how they put Mercy in her place?

Orphans were the best. Don't F with the Orphans!!

Why weren't they on the gang network?

They were too low on the food chain, but they rumbled anyway.

Lighten up Mercy now, stop looking for trouble

Should've slapped your mouth the minute you opened it

The orphans were the only gang that they met on their own turf. The rest of the gangs were running around in small packs of 9 like the warriors. Of course they are going to act tough when they are at home, and out number them. But the warriors still showed that they were tougher.

I agree that the Warriors showed that they were tougher, because they stood up to the Orphans, and all the other gangs who attacked them while they were on their way back to their home turf.
