This movie was AWFUL!!!!

This movie was AWFUL!!!! The acting was poor and the most of the scenes were quite predictable and boring, to say the least. Question: Why did what's-his-face carry a stick match in his mouth? He looked very dumb carrying it between his lips, and this was done throughout the entire movie!

Someone has an opinion with which you don't agree, and he has to be a moron. Douchbag.

If someone dislikes a movies, gives like 5 reasons for it, one being about an actor having a match in his mouth, I'd say he's a moron no matter what movie he's criticizing...

So much subtle messages in this movie, kept surrealism on a subconscious level, awesome character development. One of the best of all times in my book

I have to agree. I actually only remember a few scenes from this movie. What stood out was the football fight and the car driveing into the wrong part of town. I must have scene it when i was a kid because they both creeped me out. Posted online to try to get someone to remember the title for me and went and bought it. Watched it again.... simply a great great movie.

It is an under-appreciated gem from the 70's. Fantastic movie! Very well-done and realistic with a lot of heart.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions but I believe this movie should be considered a classic. I loved the part where they ended up in the Duckie Boys turf and the end of the film to me was awesome as well. There are moments in this film that I have never forgotten and for some reason I have always felt a little connection with the film maybe because I did grow up in the 70's when NYC had it's problems with Gangs. In my opinion this film is a classic.

The cast was made up mostly of untrained or inexperienced actors. The priority was hiring guys who could pass as NYC juvenile delinquents. Since none of them looked or acted like slumming Broadway thespians or Hollywood pretty-boys, I'd say, "Mission accomplished".

In my opinion a tottaly entertaining movie. Some scence may be a little exaggerated ( You go into the wrong neighbourhood and get chased by nearly a hundred aggressive guys, who came out of every possible loophole...^^ ), but thats what creates the charm of the movie. The acting from the main characters is good, but i think some of the supporting acters could done better. The soundtrack totally rocks ;)

One of the most underrated American films of the 70's!
Love when the head ducky boy looks up and then decides to flee the battle at the end which they are losing. Like he got the order from some higher power.

I disagree. I think this film is excellent, with fine acting all around, great 60's period atmosphere, and a winning surplus of genuine heart.
