I would Like to See this remade today ,it would work ,the storyline is timeless ,but now we have the actors who would be able to do it right .There was so much over the top terrible acting going on in this film it is a film I would show to people and to show them what not to do.,You cannot Compare it To Blvd. Nights.
shareThe movie was OK, not great, for sure. It seemed like a remake of Romeo and Juliet, or West Side Story. Robbie Benson deserved better material.
shareReally who did you think was bad? Benson has a baby face so it's hard to believe him being a Mexican gang member, But I think he did a great job, just his gf was the only dull actor here..
I personally don't think they could do this better today, it would be full of glamorous looking stars, nothing like the 80's real looking character actors.
It's like remaking Blvd Nights today, it would not have any authenticity.
I guess You have had to live that lifestyle , or at least lived around it to know how terrible the acting was in that movie ,Benson was great at that time in Ode to Billy Joe and One on One .. But Walk Proud was terrible , That was my life most of my life.. It was very embarrassing to watch, So over the top..
