I enjoyed this movie immensely and was curious if there were any other fans out there. Amy Irving was so beatiful and sensitive as the deaf woman; and the love story between Michael Ontkean and herself was so poignant. Is there any chance that this small movie will ever be out on DVD?
I managed to score a copy of it off of Amazon.com back about 5 years ago, when it was cheaper, I think I got it for about $14.99. It is a rare and obsure movie but also really great and underrated.
i've seen this movie 3 or 4 times in the cinema in the early 80's and it was playing to full house everytime. i really don't understand the reasons it's not coming out on dvd, it will make a lot of money. as somebody says: they're not making romantic comedy like that anymore. this movie is ageless, like the other Amy Irving smash hits in Romania "The Competition" and "The Far Pavillions". Maybe hubbie Spielberg is putting pressure on the copyright owners out of spite for the money he lost in the divorce. i was thinking of writing to Criterion, to root for its inclusion in their collection
I remember seeing this movie a few years back on Starz and I really like it. This movie is underrated and Amy's portrayal of a deaf person was brilliant.
