I just dug this movie up and watch it for the first time in a while, it's flawed and certainly no masterpiece but it's better than the current score of 3.5! Personally I'd give it a strong 6 for being interesting, weird, and occasionally a bit creepy.

I couldn't stop laughing at the music, it was just so awful. I guess that's part of the entertainment, along with the pretty bird.

It was just the weirdest mix. Sometimes it was tv movie music, some of it sounded like it was actually the sound effect for Ghidra the 3 headed monster, and dive of it was like an Italian zombie flick.
And the dubbing on Peckinpah, so cheesy.
Calling this a giallo is not at all far fetched. It has a similar style, along with some of the finest death set-pieces ever! This is a classic of the genre.

It's up to 4.7 now, which still seems way too low. I think it's a pretty strong 7/10. This is a beautifully atmospheric film that is better felt than understood. I think it's a strong 7/10 stars.
shareI gave it a 3. A rating I give to the best of the worst. It is a bad movie... needlessly long with much senselessness, but at least it was atmospheric.
