Viscerally unsatisfying

From 1977-1980, the "big three" TV networks put the kibosh on almost all depictions of onscreen violence, which had a major effect on prime time programming. And stories like VAMPIRE were adversely affected.

Consequently, there is a timidity to this movie that is downright absurd. It's a modern day vampire movie devoid of almost ANY moments of onscreen violence. It plays as if it's been censored.
