Why doesn't she put her freaking hand out to stop it and fought harder instead of just standing there screaming...

This fact annoyed me also. They were merely looking for some gore - would have been way better with a realistic struggle but half the deaths involved people standing there and getting bit by a zombie instead of fighting or running like hell.
shareI'm not sure but that scene always gets to me no matter how many times I watch the film. I can handle almost anything except violence towards the eyes. I've always had a phobia of anything going anywhere near my eye as long as I can remember. I can't even do eyedrops.
shareWe only see from her shoulders up in that scene, bit I'm pretty sure she was pushing against the door. Her hands were just on whatever she placed in front of the door to keep it shut.
