Zombie Flesh-Eaters "Strong Uncut Version"

Does anyone own any of the pre-certified vhs/beta "Strong Uncut version" releases from Vipco? I have four copies. I love them, even though they are missing pinches of dialog, they have a gritty retro feel. I also own 3 Denmark "Strong Uncut Version" Widescreen 2.351 vhs, and while really titled "Zombies 2", they have all dialog and also a great gritty look - though incredibly rare. On another note, Arrow's Blu ray has a sparkling remaster, and if you want to see it on a clean crisp slate that's the one for you. The earlier Blue Underground Blu ray has a better and up-graded audio mix. If you want any more info of "Flesh-Eaters" releases, thread me. Also, yes. My favourite Zombie film!

Maybe you can help me with the title differences since it seems like you know the history pretty well. I know it goes by 3 names most commonly - zombie flesh eaters, zombie, and zombi 2. Arrows blu ray had an option to choose which one you want when you fire up the disc.

Are there actually any differences in the footage between the three editions? Or is just the title screen different between them, and the movie footage itself is the same?

Ok. First of all arrow let you choose from 3 titles to begin the film with - just click on the menus - ZOMBIE FLESH-EATERS, ZOMBI 2 or ZOMBIE, and there you go! The title you choose is the one you get (after of course, the opening scene with Richard Johnson). One thing though you should know - ALL the credits are newly created and have nothing to do with any "original" print.- Arrow re-wrote them (in Italic style) so they could achieve great quality from fresh editing equipment. I personally like the ZOMBIE FLESH-EATERS option. So no, there is no difference from choosing any of the 3 titles except from experiencing the film with an choice of having a little "guilty pleasure" at the beginning (the optional credit). As for the picture quality - beautiful! A must own blu ray. Glad I could help you out.

Very helpful! Thanks buddy! How about the USA blu - is any footage missing? And how does it compare to the arrow blu?

The USA Blue Underground Blu ray is also completely uncut. Both transfers between the Arrow Blu ray and the USA Blue Underground Blu ray differ on picture quality. B.U. disc has a beautiful transfer and a superior Audio mix, while the Arrow disc in my opinion has a far more colourful picture but a mono (but nicely "retro" stylised) mix. Both audio mixes and picture transfers "need" to be experienced, so I recommend you pick up both releases if your a lover of this film - or a collector in general.

I myself have 3 copies on vhs , and 2 on Betamax. If you can find one (usually on ebay UK, be prepared to pay up to 80pounds + P&H, and that's only if you don't have to bid! However, there is 2 precautions when buying one of these, if you want to know about it post a question.
