It might not be anymore. But Director David Schmoeller mentioned it on his Interview of a special feature on the TOURIST TRAP DVD. From one of King's books.

he (king) talks about it (tourist trap) in his book "danse macabre."
great book. a must have for any fan of horror.

i still think the opening scene of this movie is the creepiest thing i've ever seen.

I'll vote for that. This movie was incredible, I was glued to the set. Chuck
Connors was unforgettable. His role was gripping! The last scene was one of record. I'll never forget it,(forever is a long time).

I would concur. It still is much scarier, in a disturbing way, than any modern day horror I've seen.

I think Evil Dead eventually replaced this as his favorite.
