When Claussen left her with the shotgun outside, why didn't she just get in the truck and just take off? (the truck's lights were on so the key had to still be in the ignition). I know that's what I would have done.

Because she felt safe with him. She didnt know he was the killer. She also wanted to find her friends.

You can turn on headlights without a key being in the ignition.
