Did John Stevenson/Jack the Ripper want to die?

At the end of the movie when John Stevenson/Jack the Ripper is in the time machine by himself, he looks back through the canopy and sees HG Wells start to pull the crystal key out of the time machine.....and he nods his assent. Does this mean he wanted to die, or realized he should die? You would have thought he would have gotten mad and done something to try to stop it, but he didn't.

And so where did he go when he phased out?

reply

Wells won. I think he knew he'd still perish if he risked retrieving the key.

Hi

Did John Stevenson/Jack the Ripper want to die?
I don't think so, I think he was acknowledging the fact that Wells had at long last (after countless games of chess) finally beaten him.
And so where did he go when he phased out?
Everywhere and nowhere.

Did you ever notice that people who believe in creationism look really un-evolved?
