Where is the epilogue?

I saw it on VHS, and it showed an epilogue after they went Back to the Past, and they had an epilogue stating how they got married and stating their years of death. I did not see it on the netflix streming...

I was just thinking the same thing. I just saw it on Amazon and noticed that at the end, when the time machine disappeared, it stayed focus on the background for almost a minute before the credits rolled. I know the version I saw of this in the 80's had an 'epilogue' about how he wrote those books and his second wife had the name "Amy Robbins".

Strange, I couldn't find anything about it under "Alternate versions" nor under the "trivia". Nothing was written about it's removal on wikipedia as well.

Does anybody happen to know what was originally written and why it was taken away?

Couldn't tell you why it would be taken away...

To the best of my recollection...

"Herbert George Wells married Amy Catherine Robbins in 1895, and they lived together until her death in 1927. As a writer, he predicted space travel, global war, women's liberation and the rise of socialism. He died in 1946."

Verbatim:

H. G. Wells married Amy Catherine Robbins, who died in 1927. As a writer, he anticipated Socialism, global war, space travel, and Women's Liberation. He died in 1946.

"Time After Time" airs on the TCM channel fairly often and it always has the epilogue left intact.
