I keep rewinding it hoping for the inevitable ripping of the shorts but strangely they always remain in tact no matter how many times I rewind and pause it for a close-up

shareI have to admit that the real reason for me to watch this film was Mel Gibson in shorts and speedos and let me tell you: it is worth it! He is sooo sexy in his extremely tight shorts and I would not have minded if they had split!
About the film itself I had mixed feelings. Sometimes it did move me to tears, like when Mary explains to Tim what death is. On the other hand it seemed improbable to me that she would marry a man who is still like a child. I was not 100 % convinced by Gibson's acting performance as a mentally retarded man either and in the end he seemed to be more mature than in the beginning. But who cares as long as you can see his ass in tight shorts!
