Odd Start/Odd End

I watched this movie about a year ago after it was shown on late night telly and am none the wiser witht he beginning intro of the girl waking up in a coffin and running up the stairs to a locked door and again the end sequence.
Can anybody explain what is happening? Am I looking into this too deeply?

The problem is that there is a voice over where the Al Gore looking fellow (who was in her dream world when she ate the bloody chicken leg) is thanking the David Hemmings character for bringing her over completely so their 2 family bloodlines can "intermingle" if you know what I mean. I do believe David H. bit her, but didn't finish her off.

The start of the movie fast forwarded to after Kate was captured. Then the movie flashed back to before she was captured and showed her getting kidnapped at first Kate was kept in relatively good surroundings but she would not cooperate so Kate ended up taking a physical or mental journey to a locked room with a coffin. This was after an injection ordered or given by Mrs Baker. The head vampires watched Kate's captivity on a TV screen.

Kate grew up basically like some who had never eaten animal meat only in Kate's case it was human blood that she had never drank. When Kate saw how the humans were treated on the farm she was repulsed by it, but once Kate had been introduced to drinking human blood it was hard to go back to not drinking it.

Kate cared about that guy David who had begged her not to drink too much of Lea's blood, but in the end Kate gave in to to her craving for human blood and drank David to death.

Then After the doctor had killed Derek, Kate was appalled but she gave into her desire and drank Derek's human blood while she was hugging Derek. Then maybe Kate gave in or she was forced into blood lust with the vampire decendent doctor over her loyalty to Derek.

But in the end Kate choose her to consume human blood. But then again Kate's union with another vampire decendent like herself was supposed to quench all vampires thirst for human blood. So maybe all is well that ends well.

This movie compares humans to cows. This movie forces humans to put ourselves in their shoes and to examine our relationshp with animal rights and also the fact that many of us humans have cravings for hamburgers that come from cows. Humans live long and healthy.
