That's not an announcement of a release. That just so you can sign up to be notified if the company that owns the movie ever did decide to release the movie. You could sign up to be notified and the movie may still take 10 years to make it to DVD or it may never make it to DVD.
If it had already been announced that it was being released, Amazon would probably be taking pre-orders for it.
I signed up about 4 years ago to be notified by Amazon when Mary Tyler Moore, Season 5 was released on DVD. It is finally being released next month.
You have to remember that Amazon doesn't release any of these DVDs themselves. They just sell them. They take your information, and e mail address and if they ever get any information from the company that owns a title that you've asked to be notified about that it is going to be released, they will email you that there is going to be a release, but it doesn't mean it's going to be any time in the near future.
I go online sometimes, but everyone's spelling is really bad. It's...depressing.
