The Klingon theme from the movie (which included that bass guitar sound) was actually used as one of the dance production numbers at the 1980 Academy Awards, with dancers made up and costumed as Klingons. I kid you not.

That is a cool sound, but I'm going to have to go to the 23rd century version of the Leisure Suit: the comfy space jammies they get to wear on duty.
