That's on Sun and Wed. Not likely to hit my small-city theatres.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture, directed by Robert Wise, premiered in December 1979. In celebration of its 40th anniversary, the theatrical version of the film will return to movie theaters for two days only, on September 15 and 18. This will be the first nationwide cinema release for the film since its original premiere.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture was the fourth highest-grossing film of 1979 and earned three Academy Award nominations, including Best Visual Effects, Best Art Direction, and Best Music, Original Score.

Why not December? Star Wars ?

This is actually pretty cool!

Hopefully it is truly the original theatrical release and not the re-release with added digital effects.
