Vger is Nomad right?
Isn't this just a remake of the original series episode about Nomad? Was this ever acknowledged? Shame they couldn't come up with an original story.

Yes, but back in 1979 watching it for the first time, you didn't know it until the end. The reference to Nomad/Voyager was a twist at the climax when you finally see the heart of this gigantic machine. They did a similar thing in the second movie when they revealed Khan but it was much earlier in the story.
It's a similar story, sure. There are plenty of differences in scope and detail though. Wrath of Khan was also a big-screen adaptation of a TOS episode, just sequel, as opposed to a retelling. 'The Changeling' was an excellent choice to be adapted to a feature-length film. I would love to see a feature length rendition of 'Mirror Mirror'. Fantastic ep, and all kinds of potential for a big budget retelling.
