Star Trek TMP (and TWOK) heading to UK cinemas

https://www.filmstories.co.uk/news/restored-directors-editions-of-two-star-trek-films-heading-for-cinemas/

Both Star Trek: The Motion Picture and Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan are returning to cinemas later this year – with restored director’s editions.

Paramount Pictures has announced that on 19th August and 2nd September the first two Star Trek films will return to the big screen. The exciting new cinema run follows Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan‘s 40th birthday (and the screenings held in celebration of the milestone). However, these newly announced dates promise to show us the films as we’ve never seen them before – through fully restored director’s editions.

It's playing here locally at theaters right now.

I know this is a beloved film, but I remember finding it unintentionally comedic. Ricardo Montalban and his accent, and his hair and outfit, were just too much. I may have to rewatch it someday, because I know it gets a lot of love, but I kept waiting for Tattoo to rush out yelling "boss, de starship!"
