If your not in the mood for a 3 hour movie how about a classic gem that is 1.5 hours instead? I've been watching quite a few USSR films lately as their films that aren't overt propaganda are often times very good. They have much higher production quality than most American movies made at the same time currently my favorite Soviet Film right now is Amphibian Man. Quentin Tarantino said when he was in Russia years ago and asked his fellow Russian Directors if they have seen Amphibian Man and he said he Russian laughed and told him Quinton asking a Russian that is like asking an an American if they have ever seen "The Wizard of Oz".
