Feeling like I'm 13 again

When Sooner or Later first aired, I missed it. My friend had to relate the whole storyline while we were walking to school. I was so hooked that we went to the mall, and bought his album. Great pix of Rex btw! I eventually got to see it when it repeated in the summer.
Imagine my surprise, while I was browsing amazon and noticed that Sooner or Later is available on dvd, I HAD to have it! I bought it and relived my youth again, feeling like I was 13 again, which was the age I was when this tv movie first aired.
Warning, the dvd isn't the best quality as it was filmed in the 70's for television so...but I didn't let that get in the way of a great story as I wished I was Simply Jessie in 1979.
Years ago, Sexy Rexy came into my town touring with Grease and I convinced my cash-strapped friends to come see the show. Of course, I had to wait backstage to meet Rex, it was a childhood dream. When he exited the backstage door, and I yelled out his name my friend said, "He looked like a deer caught in the headlights." He was as handsome as ever as I asked for his autograph. He was nice. Too bad I didn't have the courage to ask for a kiss. I guess in his presence I was feeling like I was 13 again.

What a great story! You were lucky to meet him and I bet I would have fumbled around like a 13 yr old in his presence too!!!

No kidding -- I had to hide from my parents to watch this when I was 12 -- I think it's the reason I have what my friend calls "RSS" - Rock Star Syndrome! Still love the long haired musicians. What to do??? Oh well... Anyway, I'm a librarian (but atypical - I'm also a snowboarding instructor) and wish life was still as simple and hopeful as this movie. I still think it is. (??) Ha! Anyway, what a hottie!!!! Geez, I'd lie about my age too! (Only now I have to say I'm younger!)

I thought that I might be the only woman out there going crazy over this movie again after all this time. I also have RSS and love long haired musicians (even married one). I bought this movie last week and I wondered how I would enjoy in now after all this time. I watched it first with my 15 year old son and then with my 16 year old daughter(her second time watching it in 24 hours) and husband. I was worried that they might think that it was lame with all what they are used to now. They all loved it, even my heavy metal rocker son said that it is in his top 10 of movies. You just never know. So glad I bought it!

I LOVE reading all these posts of women who are nuts about Sexy Rexy and this film, like I am! I am Rex's age, 57, but I still feel like Jessie when I watch it, he's INSANELY gorgeous, I just completely melt!! Wow, his wife is one lucky woman!

I was 8 at the time the movie came out and I had a huge crush on Rex Smith. I loved this movie and wished I was Denise Miller!

There's a book? Which came first, the TV movie or the book? Does anyone know if there's a Kindle version?

Hi, Michigam, yes there's actually a series of 3 books. Don't know if they're on Kindle or not, but Amazon has the books.I just ordered the second one in the series, "Waiting Games". I am so nuts for the movie, but reviews of the book say he's not as nice later on, more of a jerk. Anyhoo, I want to read them all. Good luck with a Kindle version!

Thank you. I love to read. (I'd be thrilled if any of my books were made into movies.)
