Roller Boogie is WAY better than this one!

No kidding!

Roller Boogie has been an all-time favorite of mine but I was always curious to see Skatetown U.S.A., but it was never released on video or DVD. Found out the movie was on YouTube and well, I wasn't expecting much, but this was really bad. Great disco songs and skating but the acting/dialogue was atrocious. Good only as a time capsule of 1979 roller disco, otherwise, just terrible.

And people want this POS on DVD/Blu-Ray? The company would go out business printing up the DVD's.

I can think of better movies from the 1970's (Murder By Death, The Cheap Detective) that deserve to be on DVD from Sony-this isn't one of them.

Um, THE CHEAP DETECTIVE has been out on DVD for a while now... I vaguely remember seeing MURDER BY DEATH in a resale store too.

I did not notice, or even look to see when the DVD was released/re-released though, so those may have been copies of titles that are OOP (Out Of Print), but copies are still around.

ROLLER BOOGIE has been re-released(?) on both DVD and BluRay within the last year, BTW. Neither is cheap though... DVD new for $19.99 and BluRay $24.99 at the video store where I saw both, and they were not made-on-demand like Warner Archive (and the others) usually put out. It has also been broadcast over-the-air a couple months ago, (AntennaTV network?), and was 'clean' without the usual cable TV compression and encrypting.

and away we go now...
