closing credits song

..sounds like James Taylor or someone similar. Anyone?

reply

Sounds to me like a Jim Croce track but I'm not sure if they would have had the money to pay for someone well known so unsure

This reply is way off topic from the OP's, but can you help explain what Greg's motivations were (and his intentions for Marie and himself)?

Here's what I've determined: Greg, humiliated and deflated due to his job loss as former press secretary for the disgraced Governor, feels threatened by his ex-wife's new (and successful) love interest, prompting him to kill the boyfriend (not to mention the boyfriend's best friend, the ex-sister-in-law, the sisters' friend). I was briefly distracted during Greg's explanation as to what he intended to do with Marie: something about taking the boat out to the deepest part of the lake, and setting it on fire. Was the intent to have both of them die on the boat (murder/suicide)?

This film is fairly obscure; if I posted this question as a separate topic it may take months (or even years) before anyone saw it. Thanks in advance if you can help.

It does sound like Croce... I'm rewatching the film now. I'm going to research this some more because it's bugging me again. That song has some seriously cool, hippie-like 70s vibe. It's calling to me.

edit: well, that didn't take long... apparently it's called "Upstate Man" by David Broza. Now I just need to find it on a release somewhere. 

I added that song under soundtrack listings on this film's IMDb page.
