Horrible

I had to quit watching after the first 10 minutes. The actors wore too much makeup and took away from the authentic feel of the old west. When the camera panned in close just to show how the ma was crying as her boy left, I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it. At 400 minutes long, I just don't have the time for such campiness. Only got it for 50 cents, so I can't complain too much.
People in the 19th century old west did not wear makeup, especially the men. Although for a brief moment the scenery was good, it was just too fake to be watchable.

With all due respect, 10 min isn't long enough to judge a film like this. I think for 50 cents, you should have at least watched the 1st disc then judge it...it was a made for TV movie after all. I personally think it's a good Western and worth the time it takes to view it.

yep, you told em.

also one has to consider the time when it was made. the late 70s still had a lot of campy style going on which was 'less realistic' than high dollar theater work. and i understand that gripe. but for the time when it was made, this one holds up pretty good.

the story and characters were good enough anyway.

and as for the OP's comments on makeup, lmao, i don't pay attention to that much. maybe he wears makeup and got jealous? (jk)
